Bryant and Bynum Power L.A. Past Golden State
The Lakers and Warriors faced off for the third time this preseason on Tuesday, with less than 7 days left until the regular season both teams continue to prepare for opening day. It was a close game throughout but in the end the Lakers overpowered the Warriors with a score of 113-107. Lamar Odom returned to the lineup for the Lakers as Pau Gasol once again did not dress because of a right hamstring strain. The return of Odom was felt as he scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Odom did get a technical foul late in the 3rd quarter. The Biggest impact on the Laker side of the ball was Kobe Bryant. In the 27 minutes he was out on the floor he scored a team high 21 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, assisted 3 times, and racked up 3 steals. Another Key force in this game was once again the Young Center Andrew Bynum dropping 20 points with 9 rebounds, one board away from his 2nd double-double in a row. Ron Artest is looking very good as the regular season nears being a perfect role player distributing the ball well with 8 assists. Very strong game for the Lakers and improves their preseason record to 5-1. They meet the Denver Nuggets in the Honda Center in Anaheim on Thursday in a rematch of the 2009 Western Conference Championship at 10:00 PM Eastern. |
